Weekly Informal Meeting Online
Wednesdays @ 1pm
These weekly informal meeting are called Courageous Conversations because they are led by what attendees bring to discuss. We recognize that we don’t have all the answers but we can share resources and information with each other, and that makes early childhood education stronger. We may be apart but we are more connected than ever, with between 60 and 150 professionals on the call each week. These meetings are not recorded so attendees can freely discuss challenging ethical issues.
Topics of Discussion
These meetings have been held weekly since the pandemic began. Early meetings focused on financial resources and challenges including a 500+ person meeting with GEEARS about financial supports for early care and education. Since then, we have discussed challenges with reopening, developing procedures, resources available, communicating with families, and mental health. We have had guest experts from the Black Child Development Institute, the Professional Family Child Care Alliance of Georgia, and the Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network lead discussions. We participated in a virtual tour of Provider Resource Hub and have had community leaders guest lead the meeting.
